Quacking Duck Toy
to make out of paper or cardboard

My dad used to make these when we bought candy that came with a little cardboard tray in the wrapper.

He took the cardboard from the candy wrapper and held it in the middle like the hand in the picture. The dotted lines show how the cardboard started out. He pulled the ends together the way the arrows show. As you pull the ends together, you squeeze the sides little to make the spine fold in the center. The hand in the picture doesn't show that as you first bring the ends together, you have to keep your index finger on the center to push that little spine fold that you can see in the second picture.

This is how you fold
the strip of cardboard.

Here's how it looks when you let up on the squeeze to open the duck's bill. You can also see the "spine fold" made with the index finger as you pull the ends together.
